July 2, 2010

We finished up our series with the Florida Marlins in San Juan, Puerto Rico.  Despite losing a few tough games in San Juan, it was a fun experience to be down there.  And I thought I knew what a hot summer felt like being from Atlanta, but let me tell you…it was extremely hot down in San Juan!

We’re now in D.C. playing the Nationals and lost a close one to them last night. We’ll be here in Washington D.C. on the Fourth of July which is pretty cool. I’m also looking forward to going up against Stephen Strasburg tomorrow.  This kid has been great since his MLB debut, and as a hitter you always want to face some of the best pitchers in the League.  We’ll have a good pitching matchup with Dickey and Strasburg.

After the Nats, we head home to face the Reds, and then we have a crucial series with the first place Atlanta Braves. We currently sit 2 games behind them so it’s always exciting to go head-to-head with the team you’re chasing…great chance to jump ahead.

I hope everyday has a safe and fun 4th!

Jeff
