Francoeur Has Career Day in Braves Victory
April 14, 2008
He is widely recognized for his defensive abilities, often gunning down opposing runners at home from right field, but if was Jeff Francoeur’s bat that made noise on Saturday with an impressive performance at the plate.
Francoeur went 3-for-5 in the Atlanta Braves’ 10-2 win over the Washington Nationals, posting two home runs and a career-best seven RBIs. The game marked Francoeur’s sixth multi-homer outing in his three-year major league career, and he become the first player to drive in at least seven RBI since fellow Career Sports & Entertainment client Wes Helms did it in 2001.

"It was nice," Francoeur said. "It was one of those games you don't have too often, so I definitely am going to enjoy it a little."
Francoeur’s 12 RBI this season currently rank fourth in the National League. Through Monday, he has hit three home runs, and is batting .286 with a .551 slugging percentage in his 12 games played this season. In Sunday’s 5-4 loss to the Nationals, Francoeur went 0-2 with one RBI.
Francoeur and the Braves have the day off Monday, and are currently in Florida for a three-game series against the NL East-leading Marlins, the three games of their current 10-game road trip. Following the series in Florida, the Braves return to Atlanta to face the Los Angeles Dodgers this weekend.
